Fundraising Hopper Lunch
In aid of the needy in the North and East of Sri Lanka
A fundraising Lunch was hosted by Mrs Muriel Raymond, treasurer of TUH, at her residence in Hemel Hemstead on 20th August 2023.
About 50 - 60 people attended and enjoyed the hoppers, chicken kothu, vegetarian kothu, a lot of short eats and plenty of drinks. Some guests brought mutton curry, susiums, desserts and drinks.
In addition to the £20 per person ticket the guests paid, a donation of £750 was received as donation from those who were not able to attend. A sum of £1035 as profit made was donated to the Tamil Union of Herts for the projects aimed at the needy people in the north and east of Sri anka.

Cookery Demonstration - 18th August 2022
Our newly appointment Treasurer, Muriel Raymond, organised a cookery demonstration on 18th August 2022 for family and friends at her residence. Susheila Thiagarajah our Tamil Union member conducted the cookery demonstration of tomato rice, aubergine rice, microwave made milk toffee and Ellu Pahu.The proceeds of the event were in aid of Tamil Union of Hertfordshire, and was successful in making a charitable collection.
